BISHOP BIOGRAPHY
Was born on 2nd August 1965 at Keni- Rombo, Mashati Parish-Moshi Diocese. His parents names: Father- Christian Urassa, who died on the 24th August 2008, Mother- Lucy Ndelakindo, who died on January 19, 2011.
Academic background and vocation
After attending primary and secondary school, he then studied Philosophy at the Congregation Apostles of Jesus in Nairobi- Kenya (major seminary), Then he attained and awarded bachelor of theology at St. Charles Lwanga Inter-diocesan Major Seminary in Segerea, Dar Es Salaam. he was ordained to priesthood on July 12, 1997, After his priestly ordination, has appointed as the following positions: Secretary of the General Council of the Religious Congregation ALCP/OSS in Moshi, Tanzania (1997-1998); Vice-parish priest of Mwananyamala, Dar es Salaam (1998-1999), Formator in the ALCP/OSS formation house in Morogoro (1998-1999). Then he went for further studies in Rome at the Pontifical Teresianum Institute (1999-2003), where he was awarded doctorate in Spiritual theology. From 2003-2015, he was appointed as Provincial Superior ALCP/OSS. On 19.04.2018 the Holy Father (Pope Francis) appointed Fr Beatus as Bishop of Sumbawanga when he was working at Eslarn Parish, Regensburg Diocese in Germany.
